The Special Investigations Unit says the Ottawa Police Service notified it on July 24 and assigned two SIU investigators to an alleged January 2026 sexual assault involving an on-duty OPS officer. The SIU referred employment questions to Ottawa Police and provided no further operational details in its statement.
