- U of W Collegiate makes AI literacy mandatory for Grade 9–10 students. The University of Winnipeg Collegiate requires a two-hour AI literacy module this year for all Grade 9 and 10 social studies classes, covering what AI can and cannot do, privacy and misinformation, Principal Cameron Cerasani said. The school also offers a Grade 10 elective on AI for students who want deeper study.
- Students return to the former MITT campus after a rocky transition to RRC Polytech. RRC Polytech absorbed 19 MITT programs and expects 400 new students at its South Winnipeg Campus, while RRC reports international enrolment is down about 27% compared with last year, RRC acting communications manager Lauren Parsons and President Fred Meier said. MITT closed earlier this year after a 55% drop in international students.
- Grades 11–12 Winnipeg students will be first to get free transit passes. The city announced that students in Grades 11 and 12 will receive free transit passes, marking the first cohort covered under the program, according to the school-transport announcement.

- Man charged with murder after north Winnipeg house fire victim dies. Winnipeg police charged an individual with murder following a north Winnipeg house fire in which the previously reported victim has since died, reports state. Police have laid the murder charge after the victim succumbed to injuries from the residence blaze.
- Manitoba government calls inquests into three in-custody deaths. The province has ordered formal inquests into three people who died while in custody, the Manitoba government announced, triggering judicial reviews into each in-custody death.

- Port of Churchill resumes grain shipments for first time in six years. A ship is being loaded with 30,000 tonnes of Saskatchewan wheat durum at the Port of Churchill this week, the first of three ships planned this season, federal minister Rebecca Chartrand and Manitoba agriculture minister Ron Kostyshyn said during a Monday ceremony.

- Winnipeg Jets sign Altona’s Cole Kehler as full-time EBUG. The Jets designated 28-year-old Cole Kehler as their full-time emergency backup goalie under the updated NHL CBA that requires each club to name an EBUG; Kehler has 64 professional games on his record and last played for the Altona Maroons from 2022–2024.
