Federal government commits $29 million to North Calgary water main project. Calgary-Confederation MP Corey Hogan announced $29 million from the Build Communities Strong Fund for stage one of the North Calgary Water Servicing project on Tuesday; the work includes several kilometres of feeder main and upgrades to Top Hill Reservoir, Big Hill East Reservoir and Mountain View Pump Station and will provide 30 million litres more water from Bearspaw next year.

Premier Danielle Smith will meet Nashville officials during a personal trip to Tennessee. Smith plans to travel to Nashville later this week and will meet state tourism officials and Nashville’s chamber of commerce head, with Alberta senior U.S. representative Nathan Cooper joining meetings to pursue music-industry partnerships and tourism development for Calgary.

Calgary man charged over alleged $164-million Ponzi scheme targeting more than 1,000 investors. RCMP say a 49-year-old man was arrested July 31 and charged with fraud and money laundering after allegedly taking about $163 million between March 2020 and April 2024 through Black Box Management, transferring funds to external accounts and using plagiarized email updates; the Alberta Securities Commission had previously sanctioned related companies in August 2025.
