- Indigenous tourism operators report business is booming across Vancouver Island. Operators across Vancouver Island told reporters that visitor demand and bookings have increased this season, with multiple firms noting rising revenue from cultural tours and events.
- Tenants in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside are organising to make buildings safer during heat waves. Tenant groups in the DTES are implementing building-level measures and actions this summer to respond to extreme heat, including coordination on common-area cooling and outreach to landlords.
