Brampton man gets 2½ years for kidnapping and attempted kidnapping. Superior Court Justice James Stribopoulos sentenced Diavion Henningham to 2½ years in prison after he pleaded guilty on Sept. 26, 2025 to kidnapping a woman on May 21, 2021 near Hurontario Street and Eglinton Avenue and attempting to kidnap a second woman two days later; court heard both victims were assaulted when they resisted.
Police hunt man in his 20s after violent nightclub assault on King Street West. Toronto police say the June 21, around 1 a.m., assault at King Street West and Spadina left the victim with non-life-threatening injuries; officers released an image and described the suspect as 20–25 years old, about 5'8", thin, last seen in a polo and backwards baseball hat.

Incumbent Dianne Saxe switches wards at the nomination deadline. Saxe, who has represented University–Rosedale since 2022, withdrew from a race against Mike Layton and filed to run in Toronto–Danforth on Friday before the 2 p.m. nomination deadline, saying she will focus on Don River revitalization and waterfront protection where incumbent Paula Fletcher is not seeking re-election.
Ontario minister charged $21,000 in trade-mission meals to his riding association. Records show Minister Vic Fedeli charged more than $21,000 for “out of country” meal expenses to his Nipissing riding association while billing taxpayers more than $180,000 for international trade-mission travel between 2023 and 2025.
