- RCMP find body of newborn in Umpherville, The Pas; community holds vigil. RCMP say human remains of a newly born infant or fetus were discovered between two residences in The Pas on Monday, prompting a community vigil where a monument and sacred fire were set up and the infant was named “Cypress.” Manitoba Metis Federation regional vice-president Judy Mayer provided a statement expressing grief.
- Teacher watchdog logged 94 misconduct complaints in first 15 months. The Manitoba Commissioner of Teacher Professional Conduct reported 94 complaints since early 2025, resolving 23 by March, with four finalized cases involving emotional harm and two involving physical harm; one teacher lost their certificate and four interim suspensions were ordered.
