🚨 Crime et sécurité publique

  1. Un policier de Calgary accusé de deux chefs de meurtre au deuxième degré sera jugé. Un juge a renvoyé le constable Craig Stothard, 52 ans, en procès après une enquête préliminaire mardi; il fait face à des accusations liées à la fusillade du 29 mai 2023 qui a coûté la vie à Wesley Davidson et à Levon Boyce Fox et il est actuellement en congé du service.
  2. Deux adolescents accusés après une poursuite matinale à moto‑électrique tout‑terrain. La police affirme que des agents et HAWCS ont poursuivi trois adolescents depuis Coach Hill vers 1 h 30; deux ont été arrêtés et accusés d’opération dangereuse et de fuite devant la police, un troisième est toujours recherché. La police rappelle que les motos tout‑terrain électriques sont illégales sur les routes, trottoirs, sentiers et dans les parcs.

  1. Un ministre albertaine lance des assemblées publiques sur des centres de données d’IA proposés, débutant à Lacombe. Le ministre de la Technologie, Nate Glubish, tiendra la première séance ce soir à Lacombe; le comté de Sturgeon est le site prévu du complexe de centres de données de 13 milliards de dollars de Meta et le gouvernement indique qu’une réunion virtuelle avec la première ministre Danielle Smith est prévue le 27 août.
