🚑 Faits saillants et incidents

  1. Incendie nocturne dans une maison de Sherwood Park : dernière étape d’un conflit de voisinage de longue date. Des flammes ont été observées sortant du 58, Glengarry Crescent vers 2 h dimanche; la municipalité de Strathcona indique que des enquêteurs incendie et la GRC examinent l’incendie et que des chiens renifleurs d’accélérants ont été utilisés sur place. Des voisins ont dit à Global News que la maison faisait l’objet d’une attention policière fréquente depuis près d’un an et qu’Alberta Health Services l’a déclarée impropre à l’habitation en novembre 2025.
  2. Un policier de Calgary, touché deux fois dans un parc, a quitté l’hôpital. La police indique que l’agent a été blessé lors d’une confrontation dans Edworthy Park et a été autorisé à quitter l’hôpital; le suspect, décrit par la police comme une figure du crime organisé, s’est infligé une blessure par balle et a été retrouvé ensuite flottant dans la rivière Bow. Le surveillant des services policiers de l’Alberta a été dépêché sur les lieux et enquête sur le décès du suspect.

  1. Le conseil municipal étudie de nouvelles règles pour les trottinettes et vélos électriques après des plaintes sur la sécurité et le stationnement. Un rapport de la ville indique que les trajets en micromobilité à Edmonton ont presque triplé pour dépasser 1,4 million de trajets l’an dernier depuis le lancement en 2019; des conseillers ont entendu des résidents — y compris des usagers partiels de fauteuil roulant comme Kyrie Herman — signaler des trottoirs bloqués et des trottinettes renversées qui entravent la mobilité.   1. Kids Help Phone signale 183 % de textos de soutien en plus la nuit par rapport au jour.
