One person died and another was rescued after a canoe capsized on Stewart Lake Saturday night. Ontario Provincial Police in Bracebridge said the canoe overturned about 40 feet from shore shortly after 8 p.m.; searchers recovered the 31-year-old from Mississauga on Sunday and the Office of the Chief Coroner is involved in the investigation.

A 52-year-old motorcycle rider was killed in a head-on crash on Muskoka Road 169 Saturday evening. Ontario Provincial Police said the collision near East Black Lake Road occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m.; the passenger-vehicle driver faces a charge of dangerous operation causing death and is due at Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge Sunday.
