- 184 Street overpass will close for three months starting the week of Aug. 10. The City of Edmonton says the 184 Street bridge over Yellowhead Trail will be closed to through traffic for about three months so crews can renew the bridge deck, repave asphalt and install upgraded waterproofing; ramps and local access remain open and the overpass will reopen sometime in the fall.
- Prairie producers filed more than 4,000 crop-insurance claims after stormy July. The Canadian Crop Hail Association says claims covered more than one million acres and named Westlock, Goodridge and Leduc among hard-hit Alberta communities; Municipal Hail Insurance CEO Rodney Schoettler called it the largest damaged area in his 39-year career.

- Boardwalk Centre tenants report storm flooding and damaged suites after late‑July storms. Residents at the Jasper Avenue highrise say ceilings, walls and a 17th‑floor balcony wall were damaged; tenant Nikita Butakov is seeking compensation and repairs while others report problems coordinating with Boardwalk’s insurers.
- Dutch elm disease confirmed in two more Edmonton trees, the 15th and 16th cases. The city says both infected elms were on city property in Downtown and Delwood; removals coordinated with CFIA and Alberta will begin, and any elms within 20 metres of the infected trees will also be removed.
