- St. Catharines declares state of emergency after more than 140 mm of rain. Mayor Mat Siscoe issued the declaration Monday after storms on July 21, July 27–28 and late last week dumped a combined total the city described as “more than 140 millimetres,” overwhelming roads, sewer and stormwater systems and prompting an active emergency operations centre since July 28.
- One person killed in cooking-related fire at 200 Wellesley St. E.; crews called at 10:30 a.m. Toronto Fire found and extinguished the blaze after a 10:30 a.m. call Tuesday; paramedics arrived at 10:43 a.m. and the person was pronounced dead on scene while Toronto Police say the investigation is ongoing.
- Two-alarm Ontario St. blaze sends four people, including two children, to hospital. Fire crews responded at 3:11 a.m. Tuesday to Ontario Street and St. James Avenue; a 12-year-old and 14-year-old plus two adults were taken to hospital, one man with second-degree burns, and firefighters reported compromised e-bike batteries on the balcony and inside the unit.

- Seven more Marineland belugas bound for SeaWorld San Antonio in second relocation phase. Marineland named the females Xena, Gemini, Skyla, Meeka, Eve, Neva and Calypso as being shipped Monday to SeaWorld’s San Antonio facility after an earlier transfer of six belugas to Shedd Aquarium and SeaWorld San Antonio.
- Argonauts QB Chad Kelly and Canadian LB Cameron Judge available for Thursday's BMO Field game vs. Calgary. Kelly (32) returned to full practice after a July 25 neck injury and Judge resumed full participation after missing three games with a hamstring injury; Canadian kicker Lirim Hajrullahu and global punter John Haggerty remain out with hamstring injuries.
