Toronto police say a window at Kiva’s Bagel Bar (Yonge St. and St. Clair Ave. W.) showed evidence of gunfire at about 8:12 a.m., while a Steeles Ave. W. location had a broken window at about 8:30 a.m.; no injuries were reported and hate-crimes and guns-and-gangs units are involved.

Woman found dead after morning shooting in Rexdale; homicide investigators called. Police were called around 7:30 a.m. to Humberwood Blvd. and Rexdale Blvd.; officers located a woman with a gunshot wound who was pronounced dead at the scene, and no suspect description was available at the time.

Markham music teacher charged with sexual offences involving a minor. York Regional Police laid charges July 23 for sexual interference, sexual exploitation and sexual assault after an alleged victim reported a sexual relationship beginning in 2022 when she was 15; investigators say the suspect may have taught elsewhere in the GTA and are asking for additional victims to come forward.

NFL player Isaiah Adams charged in Durham investigation after firearm and suspected fentanyl seized. Durham Regional Police arrested Adams, 25, on July 17 and charged him with possession of a firearm obtained by crime and related firearm offences after officers allege they seized a loaded stolen firearm with a prohibited over-capacity magazine during a probe that also led to fentanyl trafficking charges against three others.
