Fiftynine Creek blaze forces expanded evacuations around Clinton; 193 properties ordered evacuated. The wildfire northwest of the Village of Clinton has led to an evacuation order for about 193 properties and an evacuation alert for 104 properties, and the BC Wildfire Service says the fire is more than 10,800 hectares. Nearby Matthew Creek, Bonanza Creek (4,000 hectares) and Bourgeois Creek (300 hectares) fires have also prompted orders and alerts across the Interior.
New overnight evacuation order issued for South Chilcotin Mountains, Texas Creek alert issued after midnight. B.C. adds seven Lower Mainland intervention hubs to monitor up to 865 repeat offenders. The province says seven new hubs join four existing Lower Mainland hubs, bringing local hub totals to 11; Vancouver’s hubs will handle 80 violent offenders and 80 repeat property offenders as part of an initiative tracking up to 865 people under repeat-offender programs.
