- Search continues for two brothers believed to have drowned at Whiteshell Provincial Park. RCMP say Maximo Au Ramirez, 10, and Aaron Au Ramirez, 13, were swept into Nutimik Lake and crews including HEART sonar teams, RCMP boats and drones and about 20 community volunteers are searching; Lac du Bonnet RCMP Staff Sgt. Cory Meyers said the search is not being treated as a recovery mission.
- Police watchdog probes after man on scooter collides with Winnipeg police cruiser. Winnipeg Police say the 50-year-old, wanted on warrants, collided with a WPS patrol vehicle about 6 p.m. on Logan Avenue and was admitted to hospital in unstable condition; officers seized $1,250 (12.5 g) of cocaine, $345 (43.7 g) of methamphetamine and $415 cash while charging him with trafficking and resisting a peace officer.
- Teen charged after cat found fatally injured in Centennial neighbourhood. Winnipeg Police responded about 9:20 p.m. and arrested a 16-year-old who allegedly confined the cat in a plastic bag and injured it with a knife; charges include killing or injuring animals, causing unnecessary suffering and weapon possession plus multiple breach counts.

- Byelection underway in The Pas‑Kameesak after Amanda Lathlin's death. Four candidates — Jennifer Flett (NDP), Edna Nabess (PC), Dan Quesnel (Liberal) and Wally Daudrich (Keystone) — are on the ballot Tuesday as the NDP hold 33 seats, PCs 20, Liberals one and two independents in the Manitoba legislature.

- Nine premiers agree to lift interprovincial barriers for direct-to-consumer alcohol sales. The agreement allows brewers and distillers to ship across provincial lines immediately, notes that Manitoba and New Brunswick already opened their markets earlier, and B.C. has until February 2027 to finish regulations.

- Lyme disease cases rising in Manitoba with 120+ confirmed in 2025. Manitoba Health reported more than 120 confirmed cases in 2025, and Manitoba Lyme volunteer Marnie Le Page says actual infections are likely higher because of testing gaps.

- Blue Bombers to induct 1988 and 1990 Grey Cup champion teams into club Hall of Fame. The club will honour both teams during the Sept. 25 home game vs. Toronto; the 1988 squad (9–9) beat BC with James Murphy's 165 receiving yards, and the 1990 team secured the franchise's 10th championship with Tom Burgess and Greg Battle earning MVP honours.
