- Ontario reports 191 active wildfires, 81 out of control and 10 communities evacuated. - Ontario Court of Appeal convicts Pat King of intimidation and orders a new sentencing hearing. The panel overturned part of his acquittal from the February 2022 Ottawa convoy case, adding an intimidation conviction to King’s record and sending the matter back for resentencing after his earlier conditional sentence of 12 months.
- Mistrial declared on one sexual-assault charge Frank Stronach was convicted of last month, defence says. Defence lawyer Leora Shemesh said a judge granted a mistrial on the sexual-assault charge after emails from a civil-claim lawyer contradicted testimony; Stronach faces sentencing in September and had been charged by Peel police with 18 offences involving 12 complainants.

- Tourism Minister Stan Cho resigns after charging more than $16,000 in downtown Toronto hotel stays.
