  1. Une personne décédée après un incendie dans un immeuble du nord-est d'Edmonton. Les Services d'incendie et de sauvetage d'Edmonton sont intervenus à 21 h 19 au 13126, 82 St. dans Killarney; les équipes ont élevé l'incident au deuxième niveau d'alerte et confirmé un décès pendant que 11 équipes (environ 44 pompiers) étaient sur place.
  2. Deux maisons familiales dévastées et une troisième endommagée dans un brasier à Cameron Heights. Les pompiers d'Edmonton sont arrivés à 16 h 18 pour des incendies au 2023 et 2021 Cameron Ravine Way; neuf équipes (un peu moins de 40 pompiers) ont combattu l'incendie de deuxième alarme; aucun blessé signalé et trois animaux de compagnie sont toujours portés disparus.

  1. L'Alberta fait face à une saison de moustiques prolongée inédite depuis 1990. Mike Jenkins, technicien biologique de la ville d'Edmonton, explique que de fortes pluies persistantes depuis la fin juin ont créé des habitats de reproduction; il se souvient que la dernière saison comparable remonte à 1990, année de forte activité des moustiques.
  2. La chaleur extrême et l'humidité peuvent alimenter des orages et des tornades plus dangereux. Le professeur de physique atmosphérique Kent Moore a déclaré que les vagues de chaleur augmentent le risque d'orages violents en après-midi et de tornades possibles; Environnement Canada note récemment des températures de 30–40 °C avec des alertes d'indice humidex dans certaines régions du pays.
