  1. Une journée sombre pour les pêcheurs de palourdes. Trois hommes ont tragiquement perdu la vie après que leur bateau a chaviré au large de l'île Savary lors d'un incident de pêche nocturne. Cet incident fait frémir notre communauté de pêche côtière, nous rappelant les dangers qui guettent nos magnifiques eaux.

  2. Une découverte choquante à Lions Bay. Les restes de l'acteur de la Colombie-Britannique Stewart McLean ont été retrouvés, permettant aux enquêteurs homicide d'assumer l'affaire. Ce tournant déchirant a laissé les fans et les amis en quête de réponses concernant son destin tragique.

🌲 Environnement et conservation

  1. Une nouvelle ère pour la vie marine ! Un accord historique a été conclu pour établir une zone nationale de conservation marine au large de la côte centrale de la Colombie-Britannique. Cette initiative, impliquant six premières nations ainsi que les gouvernements provincial et fédéral, marque un bond en avant pour protéger nos écosystèmes marins — une véritable raison de célébrer !

  1. Les infirmières s'unissent pour de meilleures conditions de travail. Un contrat provisoire a été conclu après que les infirmières de la Colombie-Britannique ont voté massivement en faveur d'une action de grève. Le nouvel accord promet une augmentation de 12% des salaires sur quatre ans — après de nombreuses luttes, nos héros de la santé voient enfin un peu de soulagement !

  2. Méfiez-vous des tiques ! Les experts préviennent d'une augmentation des maladies liées aux tiques à travers le Canada. Avec des hivers plus chauds favorisant leur prolifération, les cas de maladie de Lyme ont considérablement augmenté ces dernières années. Donc, n'oubliez pas de prendre votre répulsif à insectes si vous sortez !

  1. Suivi des émissions en attente. Vancouver a adopté une motion pour suspendre le suivi des émissions et arrêter l'interdiction du chauffage au gaz naturel dans les nouvelles maisons. Alors que le débat sur l'action climatique s'intensifie, que signifie cela pour notre empreinte carbone ?

  2. La Cour suprême va se pencher sur les droits des autochtones.
