City council signed off on increases that amount to nearly 20% for drinking water, 15.2% for wastewater and 5.8% for stormwater annually between 2027 and 2030, funding a $6.5-billion capital program to renew infrastructure and expand capacity.

  2. City to impose stage-four water restrictions starting Nov. 4 for feeder-main connection. The Bearspaw South Feeder Main final connection work will trigger four weeks of no outdoor water use starting Nov. 4; Mayor Jeromy Farkas and administration asked residents and venues to reduce indoor use while crews finish the pipe and flushing.

  3. Councillors seek temporary moratorium on new data-centre rezonings. A motion from Ward 2 Coun.
