- Kingston resident charged with public incitement of hatred after anonymous Sept. 23 social-media posts. Kingston police say a 37-year-old faces the charge following comments that allegedly encouraged hatred toward identifiable religious groups; the matter is before the courts.

- Ontario health minister Sylvia Jones says provinces will hold emergency meeting as federal health funding faces a ‘fiscal cliff’.
