- Interim B.C. Conservative Lorne Doerkson attended the B.C. Lions game with former premier Christy Clark on Friday night. - North Vancouver man Wayne Peter Church received an 18-month conditional discharge after impersonating an RCMP officer. Church, 59, pleaded guilty to using emergency lights and representing himself as North Vancouver RCMP between Jan. 1 and March 1 last year; Judge Joseph Galati accepted a joint Crown-defence sentence after hearing Church has taken rehabilitative steps.
- Mission RCMP say two separate Sept. 18 incidents involved a 7-year-old starting a home fire and a 4-year-old driving parents’ Cadillac into two parked cars. Police reported the 7-year-old connected a small blow torch to a propane cylinder and the fire department extinguished a small blaze; CCTV showed the 4‑year‑old started the Cadillac Escalade and struck two parked vehicles, with no injuries reported.
