- Explosion shakes Clare Avenue apartment; no hospitalizations. Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to a two-storey building in the 300 block of Clare Avenue just before noon Wednesday after an explosion left visible building damage, WFPS said in a news release. One person was assessed by paramedics at the scene and was not taken to hospital; displaced residents are being supported by the City of Winnipeg emergency social services team.
- Teen in critical condition after e-scooter struck on Waverley Street. Winnipeg Police Service said officers responded around 9:30 p.m. Monday after a 2010 Honda CR-V struck a teen on an e-scooter at Waverley Street and Lake Crest Road; the operator remains in hospital in life-threatening condition as of Wednesday morning. The CR-V driver, a person in their late teens, remained at the scene and spoke with investigators.
- Man charged after fleeing CBSA at Emerson, RCMP say. RCMP allege a 44-year-old North Dakota man sped away from secondary screening at the Emerson port of entry Saturday evening, led officers on a pursuit along Highway 75, and was arrested at 7:05 p.m.; police say a loaded handgun and ammunition were found in his vehicle and he faces 10 charges, including flight from peace officer and possession of a prohibited firearm.

- Jets suspend Connor Hellebuyck after he fails to report to camp. The Winnipeg Jets announced a suspension Wednesday after 33-year-old goaltender Connor Hellebuyck did not report for medicals and physicals at the start of training camp; Hellebuyck has five years left on his contract at an average $8.5 million per season and made a public trade demand about three weeks ago. - Winnipeg native Ryan Reaves retires after 16 NHL seasons.
